About
Sahan Mackenzie
The Observer
I notice what others tend to overlook.
As a child I redesigned rooms in my head, moving walls, lowering lights, changing where a chair faced. I was drawn to spaces that weren't simple rectangles: an angled wall, a deep window, a stair that turned.
That habit of observation became my profession. Today I lead Mackenzie's Atelier from Sri Lanka, working across the island and selectively in the UK, UAE, India, Singapore, Australia and Europe, often for Sri Lankan families living abroad.

Brand, detail and visual communication
Working in brand and product sharpened my eye for detail and for how a small decision communicates.

Mackenzie's Atelier
My own philosophy
The atelier is where that experience became a practice of its own, built around Design Minutiae.
Refinement is often less about adding more and more about knowing what deserves to remain.
